Fortlauderdale to Norfolk
3/24/16 Prepared Stout,checked all systems and fluids.Picked up Jimmy from airport,stocked the boat with supplies. 3/25/16 departed Marina Bay at 06:20 inorder to pass the bridges before lock down. cleared Port Everglades at 07:20,[seas 3 to 4 SE swell,light south wind.] arriving Palm Beach at 13:15, short run due to auto pilot failure and leaking steering seal. made repairs then continued the next morning clearing inlet at 06
;30 and running the coast 2 miles off shore in 1 to 3 ft seas from the south with light wind. Decided to turn in to Port Canaveral at 20:00 as the weather began to storm and the forcast was calling for rain and wind to 30 kts. departed Port Canaveral at 06:15 clearing the sand bar 4 miles out at 07:15 turning to the north to make the run to Saint Augustine arriving after covering the 100 miles at 20:00. again the weather made our decision to terminate.3/28/16 departed Augustine 06:30 to Saint Simmons island in NW wind at 12 kts,seas 2 to 3 average speed 7.5 kts. Arrival St. Simmons 17:30. due to weather we stayed on the ICW to Harbor Town making the 90 mile run in 13 hrs. arrival time 18:00 . weather-rain and windy conditions. 3/30/16 departed Harbor Town at 06:45 for Charleston, again on the ICW as the weather forcast was again calling for poor conditions.NE at 15 to 25, seas 6 to 7 ft. Average speed 7.5 kts. arrival Charleston 18:00 docking at Ashley Marina.3/31/16 departed Ashley Marina for Southport Marina,running the 112 miles on the out side in south light wind and seas 2 to 3 . arriving South port at 2200. best day yet.4/1/16 departed at 06:30 to Wrightsville on the ICW about 20 miles ,running against the tide we arrived Wrightsville bridge at 09:30. Bridge opens on the hour. passing thru the bridge at 10:00 we stayed on the icw as the weather forcast was calling for 20 to 30 kts south west wind with 6 ft seas. after running and passing 2 swing bridges we were able to maintain average speed 8 kts at 2000 rpm. pulling into Moorehead at 20:00 in strong wind and rain. happy to b tied up. the last 20 miles the engine rpm was erratic. after changing the racor filters the problem cleared. 4/2/16 after picking up a new auto pilot pump and some supplies we got under way at 10 am.making the 80 miles to Bellhaven by 18:00. again the weather was rain and wind during the night as another front moved thru.0 7:00 we were able to get under way as the weather cleared departing at 07:00 for coinjock marina 80 miles on the ICW.arrival time 18:00. 4/4/16 we got underway by 06:15 inorder to arrive the first swing bridge at 10 am to take advantage of the next several bridges and locks. arriving downtown Norfolk by 15:00.We decided to keep going to the Bay Bridge tunnel and our final destination . due to weather conditions we were unable to continue the trip as the forcast for the rest of the week was poor.
